The Kennett #39 School District is deeply saddened by the passing of Brooke Flood, an eighth-grade student at Kennett Middle School.

Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with Brooke’s family, friends, classmates, teachers, and all those who knew and loved her during this incredibly difficult time.

☀️ Mrs. Ellison Reflects on a Fantastic Two Weeks of Summer School: "KMS Summer School was a successful two weeks!! We learned about cells, famous Missourians, food webs, Missouri geography & symbols, Mark Twain, Lewis and Clark/Sacagawea, and the science of how popcorn pops & the history of popcorn! We made edible cells, Missouri symbol bookmarks, decorated Missouri cookies (thanks Julie Lack!), listened to music by some of our Famous Missourians, created food webs, made friendship bracelets, folded paper canoes, watched the 1963 Tom Sawyer movie, and made popcorn on the stove!! The best part was hearing kids say 'summer school is fun!' 😊❤️" 🖤💛 Thank you, Mrs. Ellison, for making summer school fun, engaging, and full of memorable learning experiences for our students! ☀️📚✨

🪑💡 STEM Barbie Chair Challenge! 💡🪑 Mrs. Snipes’ Science classes took on the STEM Barbie Chair Challenge by designing and building chairs using only 10 index cards, 12 inches of tape, and scissors! Students showed great creativity, problem-solving, and engineering skills throughout the activity. 🖤💛

🛠️📏 Mrs. Snipes’ 6th Grade Science students took on a STEM Tower Challenge! 📏🛠️ Using only 20 craft sticks and 20 binder clips, students worked together to design and build the tallest free-standing tower possible! 🏗️💡 This hands-on activity encouraged teamwork, creativity, problem-solving, and engineering skills as students tested and improved their designs throughout the challenge. Great job to these young engineers! 🖤💛

Yearbooks that were ordered have been passed out. If you missed ordering one for your child there are roughly 35 extra. The cost is $40 and are first come first serve. Send cash or check with child if you would like to purchase one.

🎓🖤💛 Parade of Graduates 💛🖤🎓 Today we celebrated our graduating seniors as they walked the halls of KMS one last time. Our students loved cheering them on and looking ahead to their own futures. Congratulations to the Class of 2026! 🎉

🎉 What a fun day at the KMS Carnival on a beautiful day! 🖤💛 Students enjoyed games, snow cones, putt-putt golf, the dunk booth, and more this afternoon! Thank you to everyone who helped make it such a great time for our students! ⛳🍧💦☀️

🔧📚 KCTC Presentation – Today at KMS! Our 8th grade students had the opportunity to learn about the many programs and opportunities available through the Kennett Career & Technology Center today. Mr. Penn spoke with students about future career pathways, hands-on learning experiences, and the exciting opportunities available through KCTC. 🖤💛

🖤💛 Future KMS Indians on the Move! 💛🖤 Today, we welcomed our incoming 6th graders as our 5th grade students toured Kennett Middle School! From walking the halls to getting a glimpse of classrooms and meeting staff, students had the opportunity to explore what life at KMS is all about. We are excited to have this group join us and can’t wait to see them grow, learn, and succeed at KMS—where Kids are Modeling Success! 🖤💛
