Well, that’s a wrap! 🎄✨ Christmas Spirit Week and the Ugly Christmas Sweater Dance were a huge success! From festive outfits to lots of smiles and school spirit, our students and staff made this week one to remember. Thanks to everyone who participated and helped make it so much fun. 🥞✨ Pancake Reward Breakfast! ✨🥞 Our students enjoyed a special Pancake Reward Breakfast at KMS! 🥞🎉 Eligibility was based on performance during 2nd Quarter. Students who attended met all of the following criteria: ✅ No unexcused absences ✅ No F’s ✅ No discipline referrals And to make the morning even sweeter… the Grinch made a surprise appearance! 💚🎄😄 Way to go, KMS students—keep up the great work and positive choices! 👏⭐

🧸 KMS STUCO & NJHS Toy Drive Success! 🎄 Our Student Council (STUCO) and National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) recently hosted a successful Toy Drive to support our community. 🖤💛✨ Thanks to the generosity of our students, staff, and families, toys were donated to the Community Christmas Party, helping bring smiles and holiday cheer to children throughout our area. 🎁😊 We are so proud of our students for showing leadership, compassion, and a true spirit of giving. Thank you to everyone who helped make this project such a success! ❤️🎄

🎶 What an amazing night at the KMS and KHS Band Concert! 🎶 Our students put on a fantastic performance, showcasing their hard work, talent, and dedication. From the opening notes to the final piece, the music filled the auditorium with energy and holiday spirit. A huge thank you to our band directors, Mr. Dustin Bush and Mrs. Melanie Bush, for their outstanding leadership and the countless hours they dedicate to our music programs. 🎄🔧 Building Holiday Magic in STEM! 🔧🎄 Mrs. Payne's 8th grade STEM students are hard at work on a fun and creative community service project — building giant Nutcrackers for the upcoming Just a Small Town Christmas! 🎅✨ This hands-on project is an awesome way for students to practice teamwork, apply engineering principles, and dive into real-world problem solving. 🧠📐 Students are using their knowledge of measurements, materials, and structural integrity to bring these festive figures to life! 🪵🔩 We are so proud of their creativity, collaboration, and dedication. ❤️🎉 Be sure to check out their amazing work on display at Just a Small Town Christmas on Tuesday, December 9! 🌟🎁

There will be no after-school tutoring or enrichment on Tuesday, December 9 due to the "Just a Small Town Christmas" festival.

🌍📜 Mrs. Ellison’s 6th Grade Social Studies Classes Explore Cuneiform Mrs. Ellison's students are currently studying Mesopotamia—the cradle of civilization! They recently had the chance to write their names in cuneiform, the world’s first writing system. ✍️🔠 It was a fun and hopefully memorable activity for our students. Hands-on learning truly is the best! 🎉🙌

🧪 KMS Science Teachers Rock! 🔬💛🖤 From performing the elephant toothpaste experiment 🫧🐘 to exploring kinetic energy ⚡️, diving into bacteria labs 🧫, and even examining sheep eyes 👁️🐑 to understand how the nervous system works 🧠—our students are experiencing science in action every day! A huge thank you to Mrs. Miller, Mr. Dunbar, and Mrs. Snipes for bringing learning to life and giving our students these incredible opportunities! 🌟👏 A special thank you to the Kennett Educational Foundation for funding the bacteria lab! 🖤💛

The Kennett Middle School Administration was made aware of a potential threat made by a Kennett Middle School student toward another individual at the Kennett Middle School.

The Kennett Police Department, along with the Dunklin County Juvenile Office, conducted an investigation this evening. At this time, there is no indication of any ongoing threat to our schools, students, or staff.

We want to thank our local Law enforcement and those who reached out to report this matter. Your partnership plays an essential role in maintaining the safety of our students and staff.

As always, the safety and well-being of our students remain our top priority.
