
Great couple of days for the KHS Fine Arts Department.
On Thursday the Varsity Band, Varsity Choir, Treble Choir, and Baritone Choir received an Outstanding Rating (Silver Medal) Jazz Choir Received a Satisfactory Rating.
On Friday, These students received an Exemplary Rating (Gold Medal) and will compete at the State Contest on April 25th:

Alyce Edwards pictured with 3 Rivers women's basketball coach, Alex Wiggs at the SEMO Conference Basketball Banquet. She is holding her two awards. The scoring champion for the season and the SEMO Conference Player of the Year. Alyce is the first player from Kennett to ever receive this award. She is the first freshman, male or female, in the 60-year history of the conference to receive the Player of the Year Award.

On Wednesday, March 20th, KHS Students and Staff can wear a hat all day for a $1 donation. All proceeds will go to the Kenny Rogers Children's Center.

Abby Barrett participated in the FCCLA Legislative Shadowing Project at the capitol in Jefferson City, Missouri. The program provides an opportunity for junior and senior high school students to spend a day with their state representative, senator or other public official at the State Capitol. The students observe hearings, meetings and other public duties. Abby had the opportunity to shadow Representative Cameron Parker and Senator Jason Bean.

KHS Girls Basketball celebrates Senior Night with their 20th victory of the season. Seniors Jayla Moore, escorted by her mother Jennifer Brown, and Christi Tejeda, escorted by her mother Cristi Tejeda, were honored prior to game time. Both seniors were given the opportunity to name an "Impact Educator," any educator past or present who has had a positive influence on their career. Jayla named Mrs. Joni Boone as her "Impact Educator," while Christi named Ms. Janet Hilburn as hers. KHS would like to congratulate these seniors and their "Impact Educators."
It's a GREAT DAY TO BE AN INDIAN!!!

Tonight's KHS girls' basketball game with East Carter has been rescheduled to tomorrow, February 13, at 5:00pm. There will be half of a JV game followed by the girls' Varsity. The KHS boys' basketball game vs. Kelly is still scheduled for February 13, with an approximate start time of 7:15/7:30pm.
The Twirlers who were originally scheduled to perform tonight will perform at half-time of the girls' Varsity game tomorrow night.

FCCLA FACTS project. KHS traffic and driver safety day was a huge success. All of KHS students were impacted. Thank you to all of the volunteers who took time out of their day to present to our students: Michael Gardner from NAPA, Dustin Pritchett with Missouri Farm Bureau Insurance, Ryan Holder Law Enforcement Instructor at KHS, Officer Hale with KPD, Dennis Hamlett with KFD, Officer Miguel Nunnery and Officer Ashlie Close with Missouri State Highway Patrol, and Alex Lee Auto Technology Instructor at KHS.
