✨️ Quarter 1 Rewards & Pink Out Day Celebration 🩷

KMS students who met the Quarter 1 reward criteria were recognized on Friday for their hard work and positive choices! 🙌

To qualify, students maintained:
✅ No D’s or F’s
✅ No office referrals
✅ No more than one unexcused absence

These students enjoyed an afternoon of dodgeball 🏐 and BINGO 🎲 in celebration of their success. We are proud of their academic achievement, positive behavior, and strong attendance! 👏

🩷 Friday was also Pink Out Day, and our students and staff showed incredible spirit by wearing pink to raise awareness for breast cancer. 💪

Students now have the opportunity to work toward the Quarter 2 Reward — let’s keep up the great work and continue striving for excellence! 💛🖤

Students at Masterson Elementary and Kennett Middle School received their dental screenings and fluoride varnish today, thanks to the teamwork of the Dunklin County Health Department and KSD Health Staff! 💙

📋 Screening forms will be sent home by the end of the week.
🪥 Students should come home today with a bag containing a toothbrush and toothpaste.

🖤💡 Blacklight Poetry: Finding Our Voice Through Figurative Language! Mrs. Cohn’s classes explored figurative language in a creative way today at KMS! Students identified examples and explained their literal meanings—then brought their learning to life by reading poems under black lights and highlighting the figurative language. What a glowing way to make learning shine! ✨💛

📰✨ The KMS 8th grade LAUNCH students had an amazing and meaningful field trip to build on their newspaper writing unit! These budding journalists teamed up with KHS Tatler students to collaborate on stories and learn what it takes to put together each issue. 📝 Then, they visited the DDD News office, where staff shared valuable lessons about writing headlines, selling ads, designing layouts, and meeting deadlines. What an awesome real-world experience for our future writers and editors! 💛🖤
