🌟✍️ KMS Student Wins National Writing Award! 📚✨
We are thrilled to share that Grace Johnson at Kennett Middle School has been named one of just three national winners in Young Writers USA’s Fight or Flight Creative Writing Competition! 🎉
Grace’s story, Charlie, was chosen out of more than 7,000 entries nationwide for its originality, suspense, and cinematic quality.
Independent judge Mark Grist praised her work:
“Grace, your story is wonderfully eerie and cinematic. CHARLIE is both terrifying and fascinating as a creation, and the ending leaves us with that perfect horror shiver. You make such effective use of short sentences and punctuation to keep the pace tight and the suspense high. A brilliantly crafted horror piece. Well done!”
👏 Grace’s achievement shines a spotlight on her incredible talent, creativity, and dedication to storytelling. We couldn’t be more proud and can’t wait to see what she writes next! 🖤💛
