The National Weather Service (NWS) has advised there is an Enhanced Risk for Severe Thunderstorms on Friday, March 14, 2025, across the entire Mid-South area. According to the NWS, primary threats include damaging wind gusts, a few tornadoes, and large hail. In the event of a Tornado WARNING, the KSD #39 FEMA building located on the campus of Kennett High School will be open to patrons of the district. **Please Note, animals will not be allowed in the FEMA building unless the proper paperwork has been previously filed.


The purpose of the Sophomore pilgrimage is to provide a chance for a Sophomore student to visit the state Capitol and interact with members of our state government. The nominees should excel academically and demonstrate high standards of honor, courage, citizenship, and leadership.

Congratulations to this year’s Voice of Democracy Essay Contest winner, Evan Todd. Evan was awarded a plaque Tuesday night at the VFW in honor of his writing achievement that specifically focused on patriotism and respect for veterans and democracy.

KHS Tennis 3-peat Missouri State Doubles Champions Handley McAtee and Claire Bean along with Coaches Janet Hilburn and Hanna Hunter, were invited to the State Capitol to be recognized in the House of Representatives and the Missouri Senate for their extraordinary accomplishments.






Congratulations to five members of the Lady Indians Varsity Volleyball team for qualifying for Academic All-State. Juniors Ella Gardner, Lilli Wilson, Bella Wilson, Kynsly McCaig, and Sophomore, Olivia Raspberry played in at least 75% of Varsity matches while maintaining a GPA of 3.6 or higher! That’s a WIN, WIN for these Lady Indians!


Congratulations to Ella Gardner, 2024 Semo Conference South Setter of the Year, on being named a finalist for the SEMOBALL Awards. Ella is a Junior Setter/OH for the Lady Indians Varsity Volleyball team. We are PRETTY PROUD of you!
