The 23/24 Masterson Elementary yearbook is on sale now through February 9th! Spread the word! 💚🧡🩷🩵💜❤️💛💙

Cooper was Masterson's kindness superstar today. A new student started in his class this week, and Cooper took him around, showed him the class routine, and helped him throughout the day without being asked. His teacher wasn’t there, but Cooper stepped in and was a friend. He went above and beyond spreading kindness. Keep it up Cooper! ☺️❤️

Good morning, below is information that was approved in our January, Board Of Education meeting that is important for those involved in athletics.
Approved August 3, 2024 - August 11, 2024, as the summertime “dead period” for all MSHSAA-sponsored activities, with the first possible practice date of August 12, 2024.

Mrs. Jessica's second grade class rocked every session during the AMI days!! 💃🥳🪩

Mrs. Patterson's students had lots to share at the end of our first AMI day yesterday! We even got to meet some cool pets including a huge bird!

During our last session of AMI Day 2, we listened to a story about Pete the Cat's
snow day, and all the fun he had. Then, we compared it to our fun snow days. Everyone was excited to share something else from home. Today, we got to meet Spike the Rooster! Safe to say we have lots of animal lovers in Mrs. Patterson's class. ❄️🐓🐾

UPDATE:
Tutoring has been cancelled for January 18, 2024. Thank you!

Another great morning of AMI at Masterson for day 2! See you in specials this afternoon. 🖤💛

Thank you for another great day of AMI at Masterson! We hope to see everyone back at school tomorrow! Please make sure to send Chromebook, charger, bags, headphones, and all class work to school with your child when we return. Thank you! 🖤💛

Due to the conditions of the secondary roads, Kennett #39 School District will be closed on Wednesday, January 17, 2024. This will be an AMI day, and you will receive further instructions from your building principal regarding the AMI process.

📢 Great news! Masterson has kicked off our very first 23/24 AMI morning with 3 successful Google Meets! 🎉 Our students learned about important topics such as the Martin Luther King Holiday, mastering time-telling skills to the hour, present tense verbs, open syllable long vowel patterns, and expanding their vocabulary with words like "pause" and "disturb". 🌟 We want to give a huge shout out to all of you, parents, for your support in ensuring your child was logged in and ready to learn! 🙌 Together, we are making education a top priority! 💪
Don't forget to show up for specials this afternoon, and then we want to see those fun in the snow pictures! You can share your photos in the comments below! ⤵️🖤💛

Kennett #39 schools will be closed tomorrow, January 16th, 2024, due to inclement weather. We will be implementing an Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI) day to ensure continued learning. Please refer to the schedule below to help your child find a quiet space to log on during the designated times if they are in grades K-2. Pre-k students have been provided with a work packet to complete at home. We hope you stay safe and warm on this chilly Martin Luther King holiday!

Masterson Families:
Chromebooks (K-2) and work packets are being sent home today in case we use an AMI day next week. If your child was absent today, you may stop by the office until 4:00 PM to pick up your Chromebook and work packet. Thank you!

We celebrated 3 more students being able to write their first and last names! I couldn't be prouder of them!

Mrs. Patterson's class had the best time making ornaments, going to the movies, and caroling! ♥️💚

Ended Christmas Week in Mrs. Patterson's class with gingerbread houses, winning the Golden Fork (which earned us an extra recess), and fun movie party! 🎄🎅🏼

We had an incredible week at Masterson Elementary! From serving hot chocolate to parents in the morning car rider lines, meeting Santa, showing our holiday spirit each day with our festive hats, socks, candy cane colors, or our best grinchy green, caroling around town, learning about Christmas celebrations and traditions around the world in second grade, to visiting the Palace Cinema (btw..Frozen is still a fan favorite!), we had a blast! Our staff also joined in the fun with friendly competitions this week. We're tired but grateful for this fun-filled week with your children. It truly is the most wonderful time of the year. Everyone at Masterson wishes each of you a very merry and bright holiday season! See you on January 9th. ❤️💚

Our first ever Quarterly Golden Fork winners were awarded an extra recess today!
Kindergarten: Gibson and Patterson tied
1st Grade: Crawford
2nd Grade: Brown and Parr tied

Christmas time at Masterson is the best!❤️💚
