KSD #39 was able to open the High School FEMA building last night for our community to seek shelter once the tornado warning was activated. Thanks to the support from our community to build the FEMA building, we were able to welcome almost 500 people last night! The National Weather Service (NWS) has advised there is an Enhanced Risk for Severe Thunderstorms on Friday, March 14, 2025, across the entire Mid-South area. According to the NWS, primary threats include damaging wind gusts, a few tornadoes, and large hail. In the event of a Tornado WARNING, the KSD #39 FEMA building located on the campus of Kennett High School will be open to patrons of the district. **Please Note, animals will not be allowed in the FEMA building unless the proper paperwork has been previously filed.
