Jenna Hawkins, Pharm D, administers a flu vaccine to Tiffani Casper, RN, BSN, at school. Several staff members took advantage of FCC and SEMO Drug providing the vaccines for school staff. We appreciate FCC and SEMO Drug for being such great partners.

Thank you Ragan Harris and Ayana Stringfellow! Your expertise was key for our Preventive Services Program (PSP) program to be a success. We were pleased to have the services of two Registered Dental Hygenists, Ragan Harris, RDH, and Ayana Stringfellow, RDH, who volunteered with our PSP and screened over 800 students in Grades K-6 this past month. Kennett School District is fortunate to have Registered Dental Hygienists who are dedicated to improving the dental health of all children. The Missouri PSP program relies on volunteer RDHs and dentists from across the state to provide school dental screenings for students with a signed consent. PSP is dedicated to improving healthy mouths for all Missouri Children through education and preventive services. The goal of the PSP is to have qualified dental providers screen Missouri Children’s oral health and help provide a public health intervention like fluoride varnish. Tooth decay is one of the most common chronic diseases of childhood. Untreated tooth decay can cause pain and infections that may lead to problems with eating, speaking, playing, and learning. Oral Health is an important part of general health. The good news is that tooth decay is preventable. Fluoride varnish can prevent about one-third (33%) of cavities in the primary (baby) teeth.
