Helping Families Access Food During the Summer
Missouri is currently awaiting approval on a new program called ‘Missouri SuN Bucks,’ aimed at helping families buy groceries for their school-aged children during the summer.
At this time, Missouri SuN Bucks is pending approval. However, parents should start preparing for when the program launches. The Missouri Department of Social Services is grateful to your school in partnering with us by including the above image in your emails or newsletters to parents. This information gives a high-level overview of the program and encourages parents to subscribe for email alerts and to update their address if they have SNAP or Temporary Assistance.

The KHS Stadium will be closed starting May 17 for approximately three weeks while we resurface and repaint the track. Thank you for your patience with this, as we are excited to see the improvements! Dr. Leeker

The tornado Safe Room will be available for residents day or night after a tornado warning has been announced. The Kennett School District #39 will utilize Apptegy, the school’s app to notify the community when the safe room is open. Please use the barcode below to download the app.

11th Grade Parents: Deadline EXTENDED to WEDNESDAY - We haven't had many consents returned. Your student will need this vaccine to attend school in August. If you need another consent please let us know. If you don't have insurance the vaccine will be provided FREE through a program. If you have insurance or MO HealthNet, please include your information. Contact your child's school nurse for questions or to get another copy of the consent form.

Las Familias De Medicaid

Jane Cook and Mindy Kamper provided the Youth Mental Health First Aid class for paraprofessionals in the district. The class teaches how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among children and adolescents.



Our dedicated maintenance staff is prepared for emergencies! They attended CPR and Stop the Bleed training during a professional development day. The district recognizes the importance of EVERYONE being trained for emergencies.


Medicaid Renewal - Help is on the way! Thousands of children have lost medicaid coverage due to the parent not knowing they needed to complete the renewal process.
