We had an incredible week at Masterson Elementary! From serving hot chocolate to parents in the morning car rider lines, meeting Santa, showing our holiday spirit each day with our festive hats, socks, candy cane colors, or our best grinchy green, caroling around town, learning about Christmas celebrations and traditions around the world in second grade, to visiting the Palace Cinema (btw..Frozen is still a fan favorite!), we had a blast! Our staff also joined in the fun with friendly competitions this week. We're tired but grateful for this fun-filled week with your children. It truly is the most wonderful time of the year. Today for math, we partnered with our Paired Pals to review addition. Each pair used a set of dice to come up with an addition sentence and then, if needed, they used their bears to solve the problem. We also had a quick 3 Crayon Challenge before dismissal!

If you have never experienced the magic of The Elf on the Shelf with 18 kindergarten kiddos, you're missing out! Picture it.. The elf leaves a note about trying to win the Golden Fork in the cafeteria and is also stuck behind an anchor chart rod. 10 minutes into the day, loud screams! Someone touched the elf… HE LOST HIS MAGIC!!! He is a sick elf, but we're hopeful he will get better soon!
