KSD #39 was able to open the High School FEMA building last night for our community to seek shelter once the tornado warning was activated.
Thanks to the support from our community to build the FEMA building, we were able to welcome almost 500 people last night!

KSD #39 would like to congratulate and recognize Mrs. Erica Key for being nominated and selected as a recipient of the "Incredible Indian" Award. Mrs. Key is a 5th-grade teacher at South Elementary. Congratulations to Our SkillsUSA District Winners!
KCTC is incredibly proud to present our SkillsUSA district champions! These talented students put their skills to the test on Saturday, February 1st, 2025, competing against students from across southeast Missouri—from Doniphan to Sikeston and beyond. Each of these hardworking individuals placed in the top three in their respective fields!
But their journey isn’t over yet! On April 9th, some of these students will head to Jefferson City and then to Linn State College, where they’ll compete against the top two students from each district in Missouri at the SkillsUSA State Competition.

Sophomores from our sending schools got the chance to see our students in action this week. This gives them a chance to learn what each program represents and see if they're interested in taking the classes next year. The Kennett #39 School District will not be in session on Wednesday, February 19. This will be an AMI day.
Due to inclement weather, the Kennett #39 School District will release school early today at 12:45. We will make a decision about school for tomorrow as soon as possible.
The Kennett #39 School District will be in session Tuesday, February 18th. This is scheduled to be a full day of school. However, we will be closely monitoring incoming weather. There is a chance we will need to dismiss students early. We wanted to send this announcement out early for parents to have a backup plan in place in the event we do have to dismiss early.
We will send out additional information as we learn more about the incoming weather.
