After consulting with local and national weather services about the April 2nd forecast, Kennett School District #39 will monitor the situation and may dismiss early. KSD #39 was able to open the High School FEMA building last night for our community to seek shelter once the tornado warning was activated.
Thanks to the support from our community to build the FEMA building, we were able to welcome almost 500 people last night!

Due to the road conditions in town, Kennett #39 School District will be CLOSED on Friday, February 21, 2025. We will be using our fourth AMI day to ensure continued learning from home. Stay safe, stay warm, and we’ll see you soon!
The Kennett #39 School District will not be in session on Wednesday, February 19. This will be an AMI day.
Due to inclement weather, the Kennett #39 School District will release school early today at 12:45. We will make a decision about school for tomorrow as soon as possible.
The Kennett #39 School District will be in session Tuesday, February 18th. This is scheduled to be a full day of school. However, we will be closely monitoring incoming weather. There is a chance we will need to dismiss students early. We wanted to send this announcement out early for parents to have a backup plan in place in the event we do have to dismiss early.
We will send out additional information as we learn more about the incoming weather.
The Kennett #39 School District will transition to a four-day school week for the 2025-2026 school year. In the weeks and months to come, we will be sharing more information and look forward to this transition. Please see the 2025-2026 calendar below.

The Kennett #39 School District would like to thank Glen Sain Chevrolet GMC, Inc. for their donation of $5000 that will be used to help support the District's local Backpack Program.
Due to the Winter Storm Warning issued for our area, the Kennett #39 School District will utilize an AMI (Alternate Method of Instruction) day for Friday, January 10, 2025. Each Building Principal will send home a copy of their AMI plan and post their AMI plan on our District Facebook page.
The Kennett #39 School District will resume classes for students on Tuesday, January 7, 2025. We will use this platform to communicate any changes in the event of inclement weather.

Good morning, Kennett Middle School went into a lockdown after being advised by local authorities that there was a suspicious person in the area of the school. After a few minutes, law enforcement made us aware that we were able to go out of the lockdown and resume normal activities. Dr. Leeker
Per East Prairie, this evenings KHS football game has been postponed due to weather conditions and their homecoming festivities. It has been rescheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, September 28 at 3:00 p.m.
KSD #39 will not be in session on Monday, September 2, in observance of Labor Day.
