The "Stop the Bleed" program was implemented across the district this year.
We are thankful to Kennett Fire Chief Lance Davis, Assistant Chief Tyler Roberts along with several of their department members for assisting our school nurses in training over 200 staff members. Staff members also completed CPR training, which is required of all staff members every two years.

In preparation for this school year, school nurses from across the bootheel joined together to network and update their knowledge base on important and timely topics. Dr. Jason Newland, an Infectious Disease Pediatrician from St. Louis Children's Hospital, joined the meeting and presented on what school nurses can expect to see as far as respiratory viruses in children this year. His informative presentation included information about the new RSV vaccine. Marjorie Cole, RN, MSN, Missouri State School Nurse Consultant presented information on valuable resources the state has to offer school nurses this year.
