Dear Parents, Students and Patrons,
The Kennett School District No. 39 has a long and distinguished history of educational excellence. The Kennett Middle School (KMS) campus is the oldest campus in the school district, having been established in 1891. The cornerstone to the existing three-story building was laid on November 14, 1913, and in the Fall of 1914, the building was occupied for the first time. Since that time, various renovations and additions have been made to the KMS campus.
KMS offers a rigorous and diverse curriculum to students in 6th, 7th and 8th grades. It is a school with a wonderful tradition of academic achievement, school spirit and student involvement. As reflected in our School Vision, we sincerely hope that KMS will always be an educational institution in which students know they are loved, the focus is upon learning and staff members are dedicated to helping students reach their full potential as life-long learners, responsible citizens and productive members of society.
I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of the KMS administration, faculty and support staff to welcome you to KMS, a school where the pursuit of educational excellence continues. We wish for all of our students a very positive and rewarding experience this year.
In the event that I, and/or any KMS staff member, can be of assistance to you, please do not hesitate to contact us at your convenience at telephone number (573) 717-1105.
Again, welcome to KMS!
