Kennett School District 21st Century Community Learning Centers Program
The Kennett #39 School District is excited to once again be the recipient of the 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) Grant. The 21st CCLC Grant enables the Kennett School District to provide the Before and After School Program to all Kennett High School and Kennett Middle School students who choose to participate. Although the program is not a requirement, your child is highly encouraged to attend. Students who have participated in the program in the past have benefited from improved grades, improved attendance, increased participation in classroom activities, and decreased disciplinary incidences during the regular school day.
The 21st CCLC Grant allows the Kennett High School and Kennett Middle School to provide one hour of before school homework help(M-F) and one hour of homework help, individualized tutoring, and/or small group instruction after school (M-Th). Additionally, a wide variety of fun and engaging enrichment activities are provided following the afterschool tutoring hour. These enrichment activities are designed to build teamwork skills, promote advanced problem solving, provide character education, introduce and enforce job readiness skills, and promote creativity.
The afterschool program is provided to students at no cost. Free breakfast is served daily. Free afterschool snack and afterschool supper are provided to all participating students. Additionally, bus transportation is provided for all students participating in the afterschool program.
The 21st CCLC Program begins on on Monday, September 12, 2016 and continues through Friday, April 28, 2017. Below, you will find links providing additional program information for both the Kennett High School and Kennett Middle School Programs to include a program calendar, times of operation, transportation, tutoring/homework times, enrichment classes, and enrollment forms.
